Well, I am going public with my 'dry july' pledge. Some of the guys in our Austi mens group are giving up alcohol, others sugar, anything they reckon hinders their life with God and for God. For me I am giving up catching waves in July BUT I am still going surfing just the same. This is to test how surrendered my surfing is to God and how much I am focussed on people. Like Jesus said to his mate Peter when he called him "...from now you you won't be catching fish, but catching men." Well, I'm out catching up with surfers, not catching waves for one month. So if you see me in the surf you can be confident I will be saying to you, "Go for it, your wave!"
